Not discus related so I posted it here (though slightly discus related as eventually (Nov?) my rams and discus will be tank mates in my planted 120.).

My German Blue Rams from Herman (Fairy Lake Discus Palace) spawned this afternoon. My biggest male and largest female. We'll see how they do. I posted this over at SimplyCichlid as well.

Any advice on Infusoria cultures to feed the hatchlings in a few days? I don't imagine free swimming rams can routinely handle bbs. I've done it, but my losses were heavy. I've done rotifer cultures too. Would like something a bit easier. Any ideas?

Hi all,
Peter, I visited a guy here today who breeds rams, as well as discus and angels. I believe he used Hikari first bites and/or liquifry to feed the rams for the first few days, until they grow enough to take BBS. HTH & good luck with them!

boiled egg yoke mushed into small portions is what i like using as a first food for most of the fish i've bred

Hey Peter,

Got pictures of your rams? I loved those German ones. They are absolutely beautiful fishes. Hope to have some in the future.

Cheerio,

Chi.
