Sponge filter?

This may be a stupid question but...is it possible to ship a mature sponge, say via fed-ex and for the bacteria to be viable on arrival?

I believe so. Most will die off, but enough will remain to start a viable culture in a short time. Frank 8)

I think so too. shipt it kind of like a fish - some water and lots of air in a bag

I have done it like Carol said a few times in the past and it worked very well.

If you add a 2 drops of plain ammonia (no fragrance) to the bag there will be less die off of the bacteria.
