7 months old san merah x santerem PICS

Check out the photo section for photos of some fish that Mike Wells sold to me as san merah x santerem. Anyone had experience with this strain before? I'm really hoping that that ghost gene is recessive, 'cause I"m not seeing the san merah-ness yet.

About 10 years ago, I purchased some 2 inch "Nura Tangerine Red" discus from an breeder/importer ... visited his place and picked them out myself. I believe these where a precurser to the solid reds we see today.

Turned out that all 6 fish looked VERY VERY similar to what you posted. I wrote it off as being sold different fish than what was advertised, but now I'm not necessarily dismissing that offspring MAY show a turquoise pattern.

So much of Discus genetics is unknown ... we don't know for sure what we'll get from any cross. The only way to know for sure what your discus will look like is to buy them fully grown ...
