Hi all
There is a very old question in my mind that I don’t know its real answer. It is very ordinery but I don’t know the exact answer.
What is the best temp? For various activities like breeding, treating, keeping adult or young or fry (do they need same temp?)
What is the best temp for maximum growing?
What is the temp. for breeding?
What is the temp. For treating and how long do they can tolerate it?
What is the best temp for only keeping?
Or any other conditions that I have forgotten.
Thanks Afshin

82-86
if your treating with Metro then the temps need to be in the 80-94 range.

I breed at 82, grow out at 86, and treat at 90-92 if necessary.
The main tanks are at 82.
Always add extra air at higher temps.

"Playing" with the temperature is one of the things I do to induce spawning. Rich

(I think Rick meant 90-94 with the metro treatment)

I keep my temp steady at 86F, 24/7/52 unless treating which I raise to 92-94F but only for a couple of days to a week max. (plus lots of air).

I use a temp. of 86 with my heaters close by the water output from my filters to help ciruculate the heat.

i keep my tank at exactly 82 deg
my w/c water is kept at 80 deg...slightly lower temp than tank water

i'm not entirely sure why i do that... i think i was told that it will help to induce spawning...is that correct??

you are right Matt
but I think it works some times. not for ever.
