When is the dry season in the Amazon when the water level is low? Do they have 2 dry periods and 2 wet period?
Thanks

The rainy season starts in Jaunary and runs thru the summer, Collecting is done mainly in the late summer and fall. Breeding season coincides with the wet season.

" in the dry season it rains every day, in the wet season it rains all day"

there are also micro-climates created by the rainforest itself and differences in when the rain actualy falls between the northern tributaries & the southern ones, & there are coincidences between rainfall & the Andean snow-melt that make the Amazon water levels & weather system very complicated, but mostly it is tropical, which means the weather mostly is similar year around ( hot & sticky) , with higher or lower water levels & greater or lesser rainfall. Fishing is not predicate on water levels so much as it is on the water surface & swell, whether or not it is safe to take the boats out, most of the small canoes they use have about 3" clearance & a 3 ' swell can appear on a glassy water within minutes in the rainy season, as sudden storms are very frequent.....but even this is an oversimplification
