I have found several online sources for aquarium supplies but none sell fish tanks. I usually buy my tanks from Pet Supplies Plus but I am wondering where other people get their tanks from. Are their any online sources that sell decent tanks for a reasonable price?

The problem with buying a tank online is that the shipping cost would eat up anything you might save plus some.

Hi Ryan,
I'm not sure where allandale is but if you want to check out Jans on Telegraph road in dearborne, mi he has the best local prices I know of.
90g for $139-
70g for $99-
That was the two sizes I was looking at.

Hi check www.glasscages.com they are a custom tank builder out of Tenn. and they travel all over to various shows...If they happpen to come to a show close to where you live you could have them bring the tanks you want.......
They also make tanks out of acrylic that they can ship to you at a fairly cheap price..

...Allendale is not too far away from Jan's Tropical Fish on Telegraph. McGilly is right, they have the best prices on tanks in the Detroit area. Yahoo Maps will get you there but watch the construction on that part of Telegraph....

Hey Guys,

thanks for the replies! Allendale is just north west of Grand Rapids. Any other suggestions are welcome.

btw,

If I am taking 94 into Dearborn, it appears that S. Telegraph rd. is a crosstreet. Is this the same road that Jans tropical fish is on? If so, which way do I turn?

tanks! (man I am so funny ;D)

...I believe the I-94/Telegraph interchange is just south of Jans. You're gonna want to head north on Telegraph once you get off of 94 and it will be on the right hand side of Telegraph.

I would agree that Jan's has some of the best prices on tanks, however my adivce is to stay away from any live products. Their prices on fish lured me into making a purchase, only resulting in major disease contamination of my tank. I have a friend who swears by Jan, but any place that pushes volume, rather than quality, is on my black list.

(I have a 20-gal tall that houses Tiger Barbs, Gouramis, etc. None of these fish are expensive enough to justify a quarantine tank, IMO.)

...Jan's has been in business there for over 30 years so they must be doing something right.
...Cary isn't too far from them at all. In fact, neither is McGilly. You could make arrangements with both of them and head back north with some very nice fish!

If you visit Cary, there is a pet store called Aquatic Discoveries not too far from him(about 5 miles) that sells tanks at good prices. I pay $180 for 125 gallon. If I remember right, the 75's are about $90.

Glass Cages will not bring ordered tanks to a show. I tried to order 6-8 tanks from them. They were coming through Atlanta to go to a show. She told me they always pack the trucks full with show items and would not bring tanks for drop off. :-\
I decided to purchase tanks locally rather then drive to TN.
