Coming home date !!!!!!!!!!!

There has been some rumors about us leaving Iraq. Well, as of today we are leaving November 19. I will be assisting the crew with the A-10's flying back. We will follow the airplanes and stop several times. But we are due to be in "November 25" Now if something breaks, we will be delayed but that is the game plan.

I'm having a real time typing this as I'm literally shaking. This is the best Thanksgiving and Christmas present wrapped in one !!!!!!!!

A few of you have asked how things are here in Kirkuk. We are fine but we are in the start of Ramadan. The next 28 days could be rough for all GI's in Iraq. There seems to be some hatred brewing !!!! Attacks may be escalated but we are ready. I've slept in my flack vest many a night and we are prepared for more restless nights. Daylight hours things seem to be fine but once darkness sets in, things seem to liven up.

I will keep you posted so you know we are safe. Keep my fellow soldiers in your thoughts.

We all have a strong resolve and will make whatever sacrifice it takes. The one thing that always sticks out when talking to GI's is the passion for perserving freedom and protecting our homeland and all parts of the world from terrorism. We all know the risk but you focus on the mission and press on !!!!!!

We were told that we are now leaving the 18th of November. We will still be home on or about the 25th of November.

If any of the jets has a mechanical problem, we will be delayed. But I won't be in Iraq !!!!

My heart aches for the families of those servicemen killed in the recent CH-47 crash.

It is really great to know that you are home with your family for Turkey Day. Now just make sure you get some tanks cycling while your getting your new computer setup!

Your welcome to come and pick up any babies I am raising (tangerines, ss, redturks) if you decide to make it down this way in the next few months. I have a feeling though you may get quite a few other offers in the coming months (your biggest problem will be quaranteen now!). If you do come down this way don't bring an ice storm this time!

Its great to know you got back safely and know that no matter how anyone feels about this conflict we all owe you and your buds a huge debt of gratitude for putting your lives on the line when called to duty. Knowing that you stayed longer so that others could return to family emergencies says even more about your selflessness. I think I can safely say we are all proud of you and very glad your back home!
