Hi all,
How do I get the gummy stuff from a price tag sticker off the front of an acrylic tank with no damage to it? Thanks

Hi Steve,

Try rubbing alcohol. Goof-Off works great, but it's oily, and I personally wouldn't want to use it around a tank. It might be OK, if you were extra careful, and it's on the outside.

Thanks Judi.......It's on the outside front near the bottom and I just don't want to use something that will cause the acrylic to white up or fog over.

Steve,

Did you try warm water and a little dish soap?

Hi all,
Paul, haven't tried that one yet. I will start with that first and progress on down the line. Thanks

i believe i just used a brand new razor blade, just be careful not to cut into the tank, use a fresh blade for each try. also this works better with goo-off.

I use acetone and have never had it hurt the finish, I also use it to strip paint/paper off the bottom.

I know this problem all too well. I have to remove 10 tanks bottoms that were crested over from being used as salt tanks. It was a pain in the butt. I did not trust any chemicals so I just used some hard work and some warm water.

Try rubbing it in a single motion towards one of the edges. This way the gum with collect together towards the end and then you can remove it with a paper towel.

It took 5 of us 2 hours to clean 10 tanks. I was ready to just use a razor blade and clean it out. Of course we were remove all of the bottom and they were big tanks.
