I have from time to time use hydrochloric acid to lower the pH. Then I let the water "air" about 24h before I use it. What is the shortest time in hours before it's possible to use the water? Any formula? :)

I don't know of any formula.

In my case I had to wait at least 48 hrs to get a somewhat stable reading. The water was bouncing all over the place.
Tap water that is.

What I have read so far is that most get around with 24 hrs. but best would be to make some tests at 24, 36 and 48 hrs to see what happens when using acid.

Check also your TDS/Conductace. The chances are they will skyrocket. So you would need to find a compromise of what you want. Low pH versus high TDS... and so on.
