Big water change or more small water change?

my present water change and feeding schedule is as follows:

1. 1st feeding @ 8am
2. 2nd feeding @12pm
3. 3rd feeding @ 4pm
4. 4th feeding @ 7pm
25% water change at 8pm

i am thinking to increase the water change to 50% in my grow out tank ;D
should i do it at 50% w.c after last feeding @ 8pm or do it 25% twice, may be 1st 25% w.c at 1pm and 2nd 25% w.c @ 8pm?

which is better? any comment? ;D

IF your change water is exactly like your tank water then a 50% water change once per day is better. IF your change water has a different pH then two 25% water changes would be easier on your discus (but more work for you)

KS why not 50% 2x a day if you want? Watch the chloramines over there. Do you use genesis plus?

water bill is one consideration, water quality/stability is another. my water is pretreated with AC, direct fr tap. pH does fluctuate sometimes. i add genesis-pro to the water, remove both chlorine & chloramine.

will 50% w.c have better growth rate than doing twice 25% w.c ? ???

If you do a 50% water change you have 50% new water and 50% old water.

IF you do a 25% water change you have 25% new water and 75% old water. Later that day if you do another 25% water change you remove about 18% more old water and about 7% new water from the morning water change
With this method you are really removing 43%+ of the old water. (if my math is right, lol)

Yes! It is better to remove 50% once a day, than 25% twice a day! However, even better is to do 50% and a 25% once a day! LOL!

yeah i think more w/c better growth from my own experiences and cleaner and healtier discus
