In case some of you don't get FAMA! Simply Discus made page 58 in the November Issue. There is an article by Terra Hangen recommending the finest Discus (in her words) forums in the Discus hobby today and Simply was one of them. So slap Al on the back for a job well done and all the mods who keep control of this place as one of the finest Discus forums around. Good job everyone!

Beth I see it sometimes in the grocery stores. I have had a subscription for the last 15 years so mines in the mail. Here is the web site in case anyone wishes to get the mag or get the online version of the subscription.

I also forgot to mention that if you belong to
www.fragexchange.com
FAMA is offering FRAG members a special subscription rate of $22.00 for a 1-year subscription, that’s 12 issues for $1.83 each! That is a savings of 46% off the cover price! You will also have full access to our website at FAMAmagazine.com. I think if you just mention it when ordering your subscription you should get the discount.

Hey George.....

Thanks..... I haven't seen any in my grocery stores..... but then again I hate that place ::)

I guess I'll check the next time that I "have" to shop ;)

Again Thanks

Your grocery stores much have much bigger magazine sections than mine. The only place I've found the magazine locally is a specialty tabacco and magazine store.

Can anybody scan what is says about us and post here?

Ryan

Carol and Beth, I always find mine either at Walmart Supercenter (I never see it at regular Walmarts, has to be Super Walmart) or Barnes & Noble.

The mods here at Simply don't need to buy a copy though, I'm working on it *hint* ;)

Since Beth doesn't like the Grocery store maybe we need to take up a collection and get her a years subscription! Beth where do you live where the store is so bad you don't want to shop. A woman who doesn't like to shop! sounds great to me. :D

I found a November copy of FAMA today. We are featured in the FINternet section by Terra Hangen. Other sites that Terra mentioned include our very own Walter Wu (Wahter) for his Discus Aquarium Page, as well as Fons van der Hart's Discus As Hobby, Rafael Bufo's DBWS forum, Discus Page Holland (DPH), a site titled Beginner's Discus Page, and the Discus-L mailing list.

Here is what Terra writes.

Discus
The Discus fish is often called "the king of the aquarium," and many aquarists regard Discus as the ultimate fish to keep. Beautiful with striking colors and stripes, and growing to large size, these fish have and deserve many admirers. From the hundreds of sites run by Discus fans, I present the following as among the finest.

(Then further down the page)

Simply Discus
Visit: www.simplydiscus.com
A website "dedicated to the king of the aquarium," for active forums divided into subject areas like Beginning, General, Show Tanks and Biotopes, The Amazon, Diseases and Medication, and DIY Projects. In the Water Works forum they are discussing everything from tap water to recycling. Also in the Water Works forum, under "Chloramines and Archived Info" is an extensive list of links. By scrolling down past all of the forums, you will find more choices including a members' fish photo gallery, members' buy sell and trade section, and member web links and biographies.

If you really knew how much I hate those places..... you'd send that subscription my way pretty quick ::)
