Wouldn't you know it? One of my pairs finally starts to get their act together and I have no Methyline blue in the house. Is there anything else I can use as an anti-fungal treatment for my eggs/wigglers?

Formalin (formaldehyde)

Do you have trouble with the eggs growing a fuzzy covering? IF no, don't worry about adding anything.

YES, THIS IS MY 3RD FUNGUS COVERED DISASTER...I HAVE TRIED QUICK CURE , DIDN'T WORK. I NOW HAVE METHYLENE BLUE AND WILL TRY IT ON MY NEXT EGGS. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Methylene blue has worked well for me. It does tend to stain everything it touches though. Sponges filters, hands, silicon tank lining, fish, eggs, everything. (not the fish or eggs, that was a joke.)

Hi,

IMO don't add any meds when you have eggs/wrigglers.

You want to keep that slime on the parents, so they are

ready when the babies start to free swim.

I agree. The only problem is I get fungus on my eggs badly no matter how much water I change or how clean the tank is. My eggs would turn into cotton balls w/o meds. I know others have the same problem. I would love some other resolution if anybody has any suggestions.

I have the same problem and each time I get more irritated. Does it have anything to do with hardness or a not so fertile male?

DOUBLE D,

Formalin in a 37% solution of formaldahyde.

Acriflavin is another option for those looking for something other than formalin or meth. blue.
