Cool looking pleco, it kinda looks like a pictus cat! If it can handle the same conditions as your discus and doesn't get too large, go for it.
:D

Yes! That is one cool pleco. Most won't bother discus, just keep an eye on things. If it does then that pleco warrants another tank!

That's one of the neatest Plecos I've ever seen, definately get it! Do you know where it originated from? It would be very much worth your while to try to breed them (assuming you get more than one that is). We're waiting for more pics.

My experience with catfish - they eat a lot and they grow big fast. Sometimes they irritate the other fish in the tank especially if they swim fast. So... I don't advice mixing them with your discus. :-\

As for the Tiger Datnoid(Datnioides), that's a carnivore that swims fast, gets big, very territorial and will eventually irritate your discus if it hasn't, yet. I gave mine away to a friend because they always spook my discus. ;D

The plecos looks cool as long as it can survive the temperature requirements of your discus or if you put it in a different tank. I had 2 golden nuggets die on me because of the high temp in the tank. :'(

I'm going through this psycho pleco issue right now. What seemed to be a very docile pleco has turned into a demon when the lights go out at night. He's out of the discus tank now and I don't think I'll be replacing him.

Now dont be put off plecostomus because of limitted experience gang. There are several that do VERY well at Discus parms. In fact there are several that require them. Saying that all Plecostomuse are alike is the same as saying that all South Americn Cichlids are the same.

Hi all thanks for the replies, I had problems with plecos my self but not all of them ...... I think the fancy ones do pretty well with discus, and the ones who get big in size they create problems, I agree with what paul said at the moment I have four plecs in one tank Zebra, golden nugget, and one is black with big golden dots (royal something*wonderful) and one is grey and white stripes (real nice) ....... if the plec was very nice I wouldn't mind making special tanks for them away from discus .... for real There are some plecs you wont believe how nice they are, like the one I posted and the ones Paul posted in (sell, trade section) .......
all the best

That Redtail Catfish, Tiger shovelnose and the other catfish will eat your discus in no time. I think the fish in picture 8x.jpg is a Dovii and is one bad a$$ fish. It will get very big also and eat your discus or what ever else is in with him/her.

The Rays and the pleco look really cool.

I wasn't trying to steer anyone away from plecos...I really like mine. I think he's just gotten too big, a little too territorial, and a bit too rowdy to keep with my discus. He will be kept either in another tank or out in my heated pond.

I really like those rays too but I imagine you'd have to have a pretty large tank for them. Are they freshwater?

Those look like freshwater rays, I'm almost positive.
