red turks

hello today i bought one red turks, it had dark black bars on them when i bought it home for a few hours it kinda faded away, is that a good sign or bad? and it goes pale/whitish at night ?

its probably they are stress out, no biggie. ;D

The bars fading is a good thing...those bars are referred to as "stress bars". However, I don't think the bars showing is necessarily a bad thing either. It just depends on the fish and what's going on in it's environment. Mine all get so excited when they see me getting the CBW's out, they go nuts and get a little darker in color than usual. Discus kinda remind me of those "mood rings" that were popular when I was younger, that changed colors to reflect your mood.

Now I'm not sure about the pale/whitish at night? That sounds kinda backwards. Mine get dark all over when I turn out the lights and they settle into nighty-night time. In the morning when I turn the lights back on, it takes about 5 or 10 minutes before their color and eyes lighten back up.
