i was told that i can kepp a breeding pair of discus in a 23g because im thinking of breeding them. can i or cant i?

Theoretically yes, but bigger is better

::) ::) I agree with Carol. Thought they would look good in a long 20g & have plenty of room. But they did not like it, behaviour changed, hid, stopped eating as well, so I put'm back in larger tank. JMO, Dottie ;D

i dun got em yet i was askin cause im guna get a 40 or 50g tank and i jus dont want discus in there id like to put em in my 23g cause 1 of my friends did and they have bred sucesfully many many times.

Experience is invaluable. If you are satisfied with the experience that your friend had then follow that guideline. People here share their own experience as a way for all of us to learn. Let us know how that works out for you. I know that I have tried 20 gal tanks but they were really only useful as QT tanks. Too small for the Discus to really be comfortable. On the other hand I use a 30 gal and have seen many 29 gals used very effectively. Find what works for you and share your experience!
