Taken mother fish out.

I have removed the mother fish back to the community tank.I noticed that she had a small wound on her body so thought it better to remove her.I dont know how she got it.The Daddy is still in with the babies.

That should work fine. Watch to make sure the wound heals.

:o :o I did the same Liz, my mommie dearest was eliminating the 1st group in favor of the new eggs. Now I know to separate mom & dad so they can still raise the fry but not produce a new batch, using the egg crate plastic. This is good to know if one wants to breed, but I DON'T! Not unless a special pair comes up, hahahaha. The dad did a great job by himself with no problems. Course then he went back to the community tank & picked himself out a female RRB, killed her mate & started over again. He is still raisin' cane in that tank & harrassing everyone, lol, Dottie ;D
