Where Are You????

Ok, if your looking at this post you must be intrested to find out if someone lives close by that also has discus. Heres what I'm hoping 100% of our fellow Simply members will do.

Look to the top of the page, above the adds, Find the button called "Member Map" click it, find where it's marked "Place my pin" then follow the instructions.

I also wanted to say thanks to the Admin force for the Map.

I think it is a great thing. I put my pin in last night (my time) and noticed a NZ'er had done the same.

This is a pretty nifty little feature. Of course once there are a bunch of pins it's going to get confusing ;D But it'll be cool to see tons of us all over the world :)

Well, here we are on the second of December and so far 126 people have marked their location on the member map out of 2812 members. That means that only 5 out of every 100 members have posted. We can do better heck, on DAAH they have locations for 158 of their members and they only have 1000 members.:spank: :whip: Come on folks don’t be shy, no discus bandits are going to sneak into your house with bags and nets to haul off your fish. As far as I can tell, it’s a good thing to find people close by that also keep discus. :soapbox:

Im pinned - thanks to Ryan - he had to help me and Pril. But ive passed his knowlege onto another couple of aussies. One Aussie in Sydney had himself pinned in the middle of the Pacific Ocean but hes fixed now. And my buddy, Matt, is now pinned.

All we need to do now is get Galina in the right state, shes in sydney put shes pinned herself up around Brisbane - lol.

Theres still alot of aussies "unpinned" - come on guys - theres more than 14 of us. And where are you hiding Rodney?

Alright everyone ,
Now you have to fill in that Member map.. Rick May will be very persistent about getting you all located on it... I know this to be true.. as He was very persistent in getting Ryan and I to install that feature! :) Come to think of it , Rick was also instrumental in us adding the event section to the Board!

Guess we should be the ones thanking you Rick! :)

Cool, :drummer:154 members have pinned their location :bounce2: thats around 6 out of every 100 members. Come-on the the other 2600, get on over there and get pinned :whip:

177 members have now pinned their location on the member map but the new postings have droped way down in the past few days. I thought I'd bump this back up and see if we can get some more. Simply now has 13 more members pinned than DAAH's member map. but we also have three times the members so were way behind where we should be. so come on :whip: pin your place.

It might be that your "state" is less than half the size of the "County" that I live in. Or it might be that if you stuck a pin on RI you would cover the whole state.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to update how many are on the member map (and bump it to the top again). Were now over :drummer: 240 members! if we get to 290 that will be 1 in 10 members have pinned. It's neat to see where everyone is, their are fore sure areas of the country that are "Blessed" with lots of discus. I don't know if you all noticed but now when you look at someone's profile that has pinned their location; the map will appears in their profile whit their pin. I've been watching the Denver area and think their will be a huge increase in discus keepers after ACA2004.
