I'm setting up a new pentagon corner based on the tenecor-70. A little taller, and a closer to square to fit my stand.

I was figuring on ~80 gallons, but it turn out to be closer to 65. The "70" number on the stock tank is the number of gallons a *rectangle* of the same footprint would have held! Doh!

Goes to show ya- don't assume. I'm happy with the tank anyway- just don't need as mucvh heater as I expected. (-:

I'm not sure if your reasoning is correct or not. I have a Tennecor 125 that holds 100 gallons.... and its rectangular. >:(

Egad..

It holds for the pent- a 24" square 30" high holds about 70 gallons, but I can't give any reason they'd misquote a rectangle... (Save inflated marketing..)

That's empty, right? Not the amount of water that fits after adding 25G of gravel and stuff? (-:
