Hello Simply!!!

I'm not sure why but my Otocinclus' are starting to suck on my discus. :P :-* :P :-* :P :-*

I have two and I'm not sure if it's one or the other or both but I see usually one only, sucking on my discus. It's a planted 55 gallon. I want them there to help with algae but should I just take them out? I've seen this for a week or so; off and on I'll see them doing this. I don't see any physical signs of this on the discus. There are no breaks in the skin or missing scales.

Should I get rid of the Otocinclus?

Thanks Simply.

Get rid of them.

Even if they are not doing physical damage yet, they are still going to cause stress.

Stress=disease=death.

You could exchange them for ancistrus - they are peaceful, helpful and funny.

Aloha, I had this problem once. I traded for some albino cats. I now have a hundred albino cats for sale.
I think I made a good trade.

Thank you Simply Members!! You guys are totally right, "stress" still stressful for the discus. I will find them a new home in the next day or so.

What kind of Oto's? I was recommended the nigers, as they only get about 2-3" and are unintrusive. They might be a good algae alternative.
