Where Do Names Come From?

Hi everyone, I was wondering where the name of a strain of Discus comes from. Some are quite obvious and are named after the color. Example: Blue Turquoise,Red Turquoise, Cobalt Blue,Blue Diamond, etc. But where did Pigeon Blood come from and why?
