Hi All

I picked up some discus from a fish store. They looked ok in the store but now they are standing on their heads and trying to swim down. That is not normal. What to do?

Thanks kiki

Oh! My water is 83 degrees and the ph is 7.8 and 55 gal bare bottom.

Did they overeat? IF yes, try epsom salt at one or two teaspoons per 10 gallons. Find Epsom salt at the grocery store or drug store.

Maybe they are little piggys. I will try that. Hope there is a store open in town. Its a long drive. Thank you for the quick reply.

Merry Christmas :)

HI Carol

It worked. They are swiming around like normal now. Thank You :D

How long should I leave the epson salt in the tank? Should I change the water like normal? 30% every other day. They are in with 2 catfish and two algee eaters.

Yes, epsom salt will be removed with normal water changes.

I'm glad they are better now. Presoak the food and/or feed less for the next couple of days.
