i have a lot of light in my tank due to the plants i keep, but my fish hide at the back of the tank, and when my main light goes out they come out more, will they come out with a blue moon tube???

I am not sure what a blue moon is, but I use the bright flourescents for my plants and my Discus are at the front of the tank to greet me. Have you ever tried feeding them by hand- it seems to make them very friendly- kind of like a dog greeting its' owner. ;)

My kitty went paw first in the tank looking for a drink of water :blushing:
How many Discus do you have in your tank?

12 fish in all and they just hide...

Take out the hiding places, leave the lights on 24/7. Feed small meals several time a day. Soon they will run to the front of the tank every time they see you (if they are healthy).

my tank is fully planted, the fish seem healthy, they have colour colour and they feed, is this going to be the only solution, as it mean destroying my plants???? But ive wanted to keep discus since i started fish keeping 10 years ago, and its annoying not being able to see them >>>

Or is it where the tasnk is stood????

About 15" inches from the floor

or tank mates??

otto's
bristle noses
tetras
rams
clown loach
I have never seen any aggression towards the discus from these..

I have a 150 gallon tank and water change 30 gallon twice a week and feed twice a day...
