Here is my situation. I have 4 PB discus that are just over one year old. I have had them since they were 3 months. I have not had any health problems yet (knock on wood). They are healthy and eat well and show no signs of sickness. My question is are there certain preventative treatments I should be doing? Is so, what recommendations do you make?

Thanks,

Warren

Morning Warren;

If, as you say, the discus are healthy, eat well, and show no signs of abnormal behaviour :
- continue with the w/c's
- feed them well
- maintain healthy filters
- maintain a clean tank.

Medications are for the treatment of diseases. Medicating unnecessairly is not reccomended. Fish [ discus,etc] can react negatively to medications. Many discus breeders/owners suggest not medicating if it is not necessary.

I follow this suggestion.,

Observation of one's discus[fish] can reveal if a problem is occuring.

P.S. - my personal preventative treatment - peat conditioned water. However, this is my personal choice and opinion.

Good luck and keep up the good work.
