Wrong Place

I seem to be blessed with two pair, that always spawn in the wrong place.
Both pair, will go around pipes, pots, and bottles to spawn on a life tube, as close to the intake as possible. Doesn’t matter if the intake is clear, or dark colored.
Surely someone out there has solved this problem with a simple fix ( short of taking the tubes out of the tank ).

I have been thinking about some sort of mesh or screen, similar to the heater protectors.

Any ideas? Something that won’t contaminate, corrode, or turn into a bacteria factory?

Remove the filter. Drop in a colonized sponge filter and a spawning cone or clay pot.
