Tank swapping?

I have a new 55, just painted the back, and bottom. I am building a stand for it tomorrow, and want to set it up. I want to redo my 75 already. It's the one I've been cycling now for nearly two weeks. No fish in it yet, still getting ammonia readings from the first time I added it.
My question is: Would it hinder the progress I've made, if I fill the 55 from the 75, and transfer the filters and other stuff from the 75 to the 55, then redo the 75, and do it over again?
I don't want to have to wait an extra two or three weeks to order fish, but I do reall need to change the set up on the 75.

Sure - run all the filters on the 55. Remember you are cycling the filters not the tank ;D
