Gill Flukes

If you think one of your discus has gill flukes and you are going to use fluke tabs...........can you put them in the same tank they are in? Will it kill anything in the sponge filters, etc.?

You put the fluke tabs in the tank with the discus. It's not hurt my filters. You have to dose again in a few days to get the newly hatched flukes. It does not kill the eggs/cycts

I'll try that. Hubby was scared it would kill our biological stuff.

Dose per package instructions for best results. Some say use 1/2 of the recommended dosage. Don't. You are just wasting your time. I have used full dosage on 3 week old fry. Sometimes some discus appear stressed and/or lose eye color, but both their composure and color return. :)

As Carol stated, no effect on bio-filtration. ;)
