I have a minor surface scratch on the outside of my glass tank about 1 inch long. What is the best way to remove it?

Replace the glass.

Not the answer you wanted to hear, i know, but i looked into this exact thing a while back and glass can be polished and buffed but it will be very costly.

Glass replacement is far cheaper.

Or live with the scratch. ???

I don't remember exactly what it's called, but there is a product that "hides" scratches in glass. I used it a long time ago on some tanks, and need to find it again. It's basically just a type of clear glue that fills the scratch, voids out the air pockets, and renders the scratch almost invisible. Maybe try some superglue, or even clear silicon sealant to do the same thing.

what about a windscreen chip repair kit, and then polish later..
or try an autoglass repairer to come round and do it for you..
