I'm always having problems and losing some eggs to fungus. Should I change the water everyday while the eggs developing. should I change the water a day after eggs been laid. This is one of my many problems I have. What is the ideal temperature in a breeding tank 80-86? My breeding tank is currently at 86, should I lower it?

82 - 84 is good for temp. I'd try doing daily water changes and see if that helps the fungus.

Thanks for the reply Carol. What percentage of water do you change each day for the breeders? Is 50% to much? I'm just trying to soak up all the knowlegde I can get. I've only kept discus for about two years and been trying to breed for the last year. I just want to see what the offspring is going to look like.

I do 30%.

If they are inexperience and nervous you can change less water or skip a couple days, but cut way back on food.

Adding some Methylene Blue will help too!
