I would like to keep a pair of discus. I'm planning on a 29 gallon for just a pair and a scavenger of some kind. Yes I have experience from salt water to many fresh. Can you guide me on these?

I recommend getting a breeding pair since you only want to keep a pair.
the tank should be BB, best one for beginners

Ok, I think I'm going to go with almost a bearbottom tank. Maybe a hald in of gravel and a piece of slate and a few fake plants. Is there a certain kind of scavenger that will be good? Also The only fish store around me who sells discus are 45min-1 hour away. How should I transport them. There juvis only about the size of a silver dollor(not fish). This after the tank is cycled :)

If you are only going to get 2 fish, you should get an adult established pair. 2 juvies by themself won't grow or thrive and two unpaired adults may fight. What part of the country are you in? There are probably some breeders near you who frequent this site.

I'm in campbell hall new york. But then it dwiddles down my selection. Now what would I use for a filter?

For a 29 gallon tank you can use an Aqua Clear 200 or Aqua Clear 300 or and/or an airdriven sponge filter.

Albino Bristlenose or a Clown pleco for a scavenger would be okay.

Definitly will. My local petsmart has a pair of large discus for 150 dollars but they are dull colors. First I need to get the tannk, cycle it then I'll be back for more info from you guys. You have a nice board here. I thank you for your help and I will be back. If you want shoot me an e-mail at admin@fishadviceforum.com if you have some nice links.
