hi all in my job i work in hospitals and can get my hands on 70% alcohol gel hand steralizer, you rub it into your hands and it evaporates leaving your hands sterile, anyone know if this would be ok for steralizing fry tanks between batches.

No. The gel contains surfactants as wetting agents and behave like detergents.
Also because alcohol evaporates rapidly, its not a very effective sterilizing agent. You may reduce the level of bacteria, but larger organisms will likely come through unscathed. Bleach is cheap and effective, although I'm told that hydra can survive even bleach treatment.

cheers willie i'll just keep useing the gel on my hands. thats the thing with this hobby everything you come across in other areas of your life makes you think how can i use that for my fish.
