Is it common to have algae growth in barbottom tanks. With all the water changes this seems odd to me but I have a orangeish brown algae that grows in the corners and green algae on the sponge filters and back wall. Everybody else have this?

Yep. It wipes off easily with a sponge or white paper towel

I reckon it can be a bda thing if it gets out of control on the bottom of the tank as all that mulm and extra food would get stuck up in there...
