thin brick or tile as breeding place?

hey there guys and gals i was wondering if its safe to use a brick or piece of tile for my discus to spawn on? im not doing anything intil i hear its safe from you guys tanks a bunch...

The red brick from Home Depot is a good choice, only 50 cents a piece. My angel and discus like it.
