Try epsom salt ( magnesium sulfate) @ 1 or 2 teaspoons per 10 gallons. This will relieve constipation. IF it works you may need to soak his food or change his diet.

4 hours or less for a simple case. You can redose after 4 hours if no improvement. Will not hurt the biofilter or other inhabitants. IF no improvement after 24 hours may be air bladder infection.

so if he is still the same, maybe even worse :( he is spending a lot of time on the surface.
treated tank twice with e/s and no change. Stomach seems very full but soft to the touch. what is the best and least painful course of action????????

thanks

If he is not improved and you have tried an antibiotic there may not be anything else you can do. It could be a tumor or blockage.
