Hallo everyone!
Here are some pics of my "kids". There are 8 all up.. 7 extremely happy. The red melon (which has always been more yellow) hasn't grown, and still has little to no interest in food. If it survives, it probably will remain stunted.
Other than that, they're growing like the clappers. The red turq is obviously the dominant male in the tank. They get 50% water changes / day, and I clean about 60% of the gravel surface when I do that (lots of poo - my garden loves it!). I still have algae issues, but the recent addition of 3xSAEs, and today 2x Royal whiptails seem to be doing the trick.
They eat 6-8 times / day. One feed of a 'discu dinner' frozen beefheart mix, one of live blackworms, and the rest hikari bloodworms.
Please have a look and tell me what you guys think!
Cheers,
John (very proud first discus dad) ;-)
pic1 - big, fat, happy red turq from Rod Lewis. We call him "BEEFCAKE!"
