Well I transferred my first bounded heckel pair with another heckel to a new tank. After some days I had to remove the 3 heckel. The heckel "male" (?) started to show breeding interest in dec.
The transfer went very good. My water is made dark by oak-leaves and the pH i bring down to 4.7 to 5.0 with peat filter.
I have been in contact with breeders around the world only one that have has a true heckel other are crosses with captive females. They have softer water. Around 30ppm to 60 ppm. I have 60-70 from my tap water supply.
What is you opinoin shall i traget a softer water or will 70 ppm do the trick? I late had problem with softer water with my other wild breeds the get get crays and don't look well. Hard to tell why.
