Discus Fantasy Violet Reflections 1yr later

Well I guess it's just been over a year when Danny sent me these Violet Reflection as a test to see how well they grew out. Yesterday I converted their 100 gallon tank over to R.O water to see if I can get a couple of breeding pairs out of them. I think they turned out very nice. Thanks again Danny. Anyone wanting some Discus that will grow large I think you better give Danny a call for some.

George. their looking great. i just got some reflection deeps from him..and their growing well so far. their about 5 inch so far and eat like pigs. so hope in a year mine look like that.

Donna I am like you running out of room and buying more tanks. I just added 4-29's and 2-55's I have Snakeskins, and Golden Sunrise babies to move. Discus Parents have wiggles and my Albino Angels and Gold Pearlscale Angels are at it as fast as the Discus. Not large enough to sell but large enough spawns to make be buy more tank space.

They look a lot like fish I got from Jack at discusKC that are Stendker's brilliants. Are these the same as VR? If not, what is the difference?

This strain was developed by Wayne Ng of Hong Kong. In his book, Wayne's Discus Guidebook, he shows the progression of how the strain appeared as he proceeded to selectively breed for particular traits (for example Wayne likes fish with high bodies, high fins, and red eye). He started off with some early Jack Wattley Blue turquoise. Interestingly, many of Wayne's blue fish start off with striations and then the bodies become more solid as the fish mature.

George didn't mention it, but if I remember correctly, last June, these fish were 'supposed' to be "not so good" as commented by some people.
