I've set up a 60 gallon bb acrylic with a black background. will this effect the coloration of solid discus (blue diamonds, red mellons) along with spotted ones (ruby lss)?

i know the majority have blue backgrounds, if so, with the expenditures made on these babies, i might as well buy a glass tank and paint it blue. what's your suggestions?

Red melons may show more pepper with black background.

thanks carol, does it really matter what background you have considering they adapt to their "environment"; therfore, blending in w/ it.

will the leopards or snakes show their vertical lines?

is it one of those plexitanks with the black plexi back? if it is..then guess it will have to do.
your melon may show more peppering. just try it and see how it goes.
not sure how you can change it..
or..get a whole new set of fish for that tank. ie. wilds... thatd look good..
or..blues..theyd look great.

thanks april and carol

yeh its a plexi w/ black back. how do you think ruby lss will do, spot wise? will it decrease the discus' abilityto show full color due to its black "environement" ?
