Hi folks im new to this site, it looks like a great place to learn, so im asking your advice here on a setup im looking into...i want discus in a planted tank....however before this i was considering saltwater but changed my mind now i have all the equipement i need for saltwater so was wondering what you pros think of this im looking at using a mag 18(1800 gph) to run a closed loop to provide waterflow i know discus dont like alot of flow which is why im considering running pvc spraybar around the whole back of the tank also i will branch off the mag 18 to a homemade fluidized bed filter to redusce some of the flow?? any opinions?

Maybe you could use the mag 18 to pump water from your storage barrel for the daily 50% water changes. For sure it could agitate the water in the storage barrel to off gas CO2 and stabilize the pH. ;D
