Rose Red

This is my female rose red (identified thanks to Carol Roberts).
Does anyone know where this strain comes from?
It has paired off with a male brown, what would the offspring look like?

All I know is they're alenquer based...

Thanks, so I guess that the offspring might have alenquer red characteristics. Would it be possible for the young to look like the mother or are those genes too weak?

You'd have to talk to a pro about that one, I don't know how discus genetics work...

I would guess your Rose Red is a san merah throwback ;)

I think it is a virgin red, really.
This cross came from a ghost X alenquer (or red-base brown).
Crossing this one with a brown discus probably you get a red based brown discus.

Where did you get that fish? She's absolutely gorgeous! I would like to fill my next tank with some fish similar to that.

Thanks, I like that one too. I got that fish from my LFS since there are almost no discus breeders here in Malta (mediterranean).
Most people think that any money spent on aquariums is a waste. :(
So it takes me a long time to buy a discus because nice ones are rare.

The areas on the picture that appear brownish are actually more red. I cant seem to figure out how to get the right angle. I'll post more pics if I have any.
