Jack,

Could you help me out please? I'm looking for internet sites, other than NBAT, that have good information on Dutch style aquascaping. Any links would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Phil

hello!
I really like this tank!
feel a lot more natural than my own tank...
;)

»Điscu§»«Wo®®eL« you are using cork, I once had a discussion with someone, I really don't remember where (some forum), with the cork subject...

there were some that naively were trying to remove the cork from the aquascape scene!

they said:

"you are using the rest of a dead tree"
"it could be alive"
;)

Nonsense, that type of mentality promote the plastic capsules for bottles...yaicks...
:)

The only thing saving the cork trees (sobreiro) is the cork industry!

Portugal is the biggest producer of cork in the world (more than 60% of all the cork around is Portuguese), if cork is not used, then most trees would get pulled out for other more productive agriculture products...
:)

Cork is the skin of the cork-tree (sobreiro), it doesn't die when we plulled that skin out...
it's a skin to protect the tree against fires and stuff, the tree survives and produces another skin in a few years...that is the way we use to collect cork.

Cork is something very resistant, I do believe it will endure more than those 5 years, well some champagne bottles last for centuries and no problem on the cork capsule...
;)

Regards!

No problem Jack!

A little off topic...sorry folks!

well, I saw something on CNN international 5 minutes ago..
They showed an european wine exposition...
with producers of all over the world.

well there were australian wine producers, trying to atract clients with plastic capsules.

they said..."the wine is fresher with this capsules..."

I guess they don't age their's wine in wooden barrils, maybe in steel barrils, I even think they don't use yeast...

This is involution!

When there are biodegradeble materials than can indeed be better than anything man made, there are still some who look for Nastier alternatives.

because there are still lack of information, the consumer might think that trees are being protected this way.
more than 95% of the people think that cork is taken from dead trees.

quite the contrary, if it was not the need for cork capsules, Cork trees might get extinct...

what we won?
non biodegradable garbage, and a less diversity in Nature...
this is really SAD!
