Here is a pic of a Brilliant Blue male. He's not an "A grade" fish by any means but I'll keep him around anyway. I've had him in a community tank for awhile but I just paired him off again with a nice Red Turk Female. We'll see how it goes. :)

Thanks Ryan but I think I'll hang on to him. Believe it or not, I bought him at a Chow Hound for 20 bucks. He was 2 inches long and half dead. He's now about 7 1/2" long. It's amazing what a little food, clean water, and tlc can do for a fish. He's turned out to be a pretty good dad too. :)

Hi all,

This is the first reasonably nice picture I could take . It is a German flachenturkis. one of my first 5 discus. ( I am a beginner for discus ) . I bought this fish from a good breeder at 2 inch and this fish must now be approximately 5 to 5,5 inch big. It is nearing the one year birthday and I don't know the gender yet. It has paired up with the fish in the back of the picture but I missed the spawning action so I don't know who put down the eggs. ( they turned white after 2 days )

It is the biggest one of the small group I maintain and I have been through all kinds of problems initially , last few months no more issues though . This one has recovered from HEX and HITH and is fed on bloodworms, earthworms and beefheart mixes. I strart to get the hang of it and seeing this fish grow now has made me forget all the Sh&%T I went through.

I love it that this thread keeps popping back up. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for blue strains of Discus. Here are a couple of mine.

This is a young Violet Reflection that I saved from Chow Hound.

The breeder called these "Purple Cobras" basically they are just Violet Reflections but they do have a really nice violet color in there fins.

They will spawn tonight around 10:30 eastern time just like clockwork. My RO unit is shot so I'm not getting any wigglers out of them right now but they are a proven young pair... so I'll let them practice. :)

Yes they do. they are still babies. These are the early Wayne Ng's BD. strain Bought about 10 years ago.
