Hallo discus affectionados,

I've done my usual monthly batch of photos of my first juveniles.

I've had them about 5 months now, and they're still growing like mad things.

The complete, less compressed set of piccies is up on webshots here: http://community.webshots.com/album/149948748CjFebb

Here are a few favourites. I hope you guys enjoy them.

*All* comments welcome ;D

Cheers!
John

Hi Xen, fantastic pics and beautiful fish. I love "Columbia", I need to get one of those sw's.

Barb :)

How do you get your close-ups (Beefcake)?

Oh yeah.... very creative names. I've had a Julie and a Henry.

Heya guys,

Thanks very much, guys.

Barb, I was never crazy about snow whites either. But they were such pretty babies when I saw them in Rod's tanks, and boy am I glad I did. Columbia is just getting prettier by the day, and I'm mad keen to see what kind of adult she grows up into ;-)

I don't do anything special to get the closeups of their faces. The camera I use has a 6x optical zoom (forget those digital things.. waste of time). I zoom right in, get fairly close, and snap lots of piccies. I don't use a flash, and I use a lot of light over the tank (4x fluros when I'm taking photos). Taking a whole lot of photos and just picking the best also improves your results immensely, I find ;-)

Spot (my RSG) is back in the tank after a spell in isolation for flagellettes. He's settled right back in - eating again, and pushing his way back into the pecking order. Thanks again for the advice, Carol and Rod :-)

Cheers!
John
