Thanks Sly. Nice Info.
I been having problems with HITH in several fish. Metro does not seem to cure it. It seems to happen to the lowest fish on the totem pool.

I would recommend you to use octozin by waterlife..it works and seal up the hole nicely but it takes some time.

Hi Sly,
I am pretty sure octozin is metro....waterlife is a frustrating company for me... They don't tell you whats in the med.. just what to use it for.... This one is reccomended for hexamita.(flagellated protozoan).. so it has to be metro... nothing else would do the trick.

could it be metro and something else AL? because I have tried it and it doesn't dissolve so easily like metro.

Its possible sly, but There are different forms of metro that have poorer solubility than others..

Its why I don't like waterlife products. ... with all the care we give our fish...the thought of using a med that you don't know the ID of is..scary to me. :-\

I have never tried this med... when you used it sly was it colorless? or yellowish?
and how long did it take for it to work on that HITH?

it's in white tablet form..took about a month or so to cover up the heads while the fish was in sick bay ;D

;D I missed this thread...I have an issue with this too with a few. I am wondering if you talk with the ppl at the company Al, they still will not tell you what is in it???

I know the holes take some time to recover etc. I have also treated with metro and prazi to no avail it seems.

What else could this be?

I have been feeding more earthworm flakes & worms as I have been told that they are good for recovery.

Frankly, I wouldn't do business with a company that sells medication without disclosing its contents. I can accept mystery foods, mystery bacterial cycling gook..., not mystery medication.
