I would get a hydro-sponge V. Maybe 2 if the tank is heavily stocked.

I personally like the Azoo hydro sponges. They elminate anything on the bottom of my tank for easier cleaning.
Additionally; the sponge just slides easily off for sqeezing. No additional parts to remove just the sponge.

Here is what I am talking about...

I put two of these in a 75 gallon. There are other sizes that they sell as well. I like the '2' for breeder tanks.

I like the design of the Azoo, but if you're like me and can only get 1 out of 20 suction cups to actually stick to your tank for more than 24 hours then I'd say get a hydro sponge or a 4x4x4 square one from angelsplus.com

I havent tried to azoos yet, I might someday. But I assume I'll have the same problem with the suction cups. :(

the hydro 5s are good and you could get the stacker sponge to stack on top. their great to have..as back up and then...if you start a new tank you just move one of the sponges to the new tank..and your ready. for that reason i always keep more than enough running on each tank . i used to use the aquaclears..and now i just use the hydros.

I have both the Azoo, and the Hydro sponges, although I use Hydro sponges in all my tanks. In a large size tank, a couple of the Hydro V's work nicely, and provide a considerable amount of surface area.

I've got Hydrosponge V's stacked and driven by a powerhead. It works great!

would 2 hydro V's be better than a AC 500 with 1 V?

Lauren-
I have lots of Azoos and never a problem with one sticking to the glass ever! Give them a try, I think you will like!
