???I have 4 discus in a tank. During feeding time, two of them will come out of the corner and start eating. The other two will stay in the corner until I dissappear.
What is the fish problem and how can I solve it?

It could be many things . . . .
Have they been eating heartily in your tank for a year and suddenly paired off and layed eggs in the corner?
or
Have you had them two days and they haven't started eating yet?

I got them when they are about 2" in February 2004. Would they be young to lay eggs.
I noticed them staying in the corner for about aweek now. As I said when I dissappear/hide they will come out.

Probably too young to be breeding.

If recent change in behavior it's either a water quality problem or something new you've added to tank.

Have you added anything new? IF not, do you have gravel, etc? Have you cleaned out the filter recently? What is your water change schedule? Do the other two fish act totally normal?

I do w/c 2 times daily at about 10% and 50% weekly.
I have not change anything in the tank. Those four fish had been living together for about 4 months now.
The bottom of the aquarium is bare.
Maybe I check the nitrite and nitrate. I know my ph is about 6.8.
Thank you very much for your replies.
I let you know when I check th nitrite and nitrate tomorrow.

Hi,

feed them, hide and then come back.

See who has the fat belly.

If the two fish that are hiding are thin, suspect hexamitas.

Do this for few more days just to be sure.
