Hi All

If you place a new filter in a cycled tank how long does it take the new filter to become cycled enough to be placed in a new tank so it can handle the bio load?

Usually what people do is transfer media/sponges from the established filter to the new one. If you have for example, an existing ac filter running on two sponges, you can transfer one sponge into the new filter and use an additional new sponge.

Two or three weeks - I'd check for ammonia frequently the first few days in the new tank and don't overstock in the beginning
