Finally have my young adult pair of blue scorpions.

The only problem I have is there inability to allow me to take a proper shot of them both together.

anyway i hope you members enjoy them.

Regards

Nick

Nice fish. Where did you get them? Did the seller say they were Blue Scorpions? Am I not seeing something or are those Blue Diamonds?

Nice pair. 8)
They look more like Ocean Green or Blue Diamond to me.
JMO...........
Anyway, they would be a great pair.

thanx all.

fish came from a hatchery in penang. will update you shortly of that farm name.

scorpion is basicaly a blue dimaond with fine lines within the gill plate / head area. You might even make it out in the pic above the nose area.

there not very evident yet. Take into consideration this is day two in my tank. NOt too bad colouration i say :)

For some reason my pics are coming up stained green to mee, Perhaps its the blue backing hmmm

Should produce nice fry some day , fingers crossed

Cheers

Nick,
They seem to have settled in okay, and looks like they are happy in their new environment.
They look like Blue Diamonds from a distance, but the closer you look at them the fineline snakeskin pattern is very fine and light.
Good luck with them

just an update : day 2 and most of the eggs are forming a black dot inside which is somthing I could not see yesterday!! ;D

parents still very protective and both are sharing the duties.

Overall im very pleased with there efforts. Being there first spawn I still assume they will eat the lot!

fingers crossed they dont ;D

beautiful pair nick. Clearly i need glasses though as they look like a pair of BDs to me also. I have a pair of BDxSS from Frank and the SS pattern on the head and gill plate is extremely evident. Perhaps your pics are not doing the SS pattern on your fish justice. None the less they are a very attractive, uniform looking pair with BABIES!

good luck with em

Nick, get a knee high hose (stocking) and cut a peice to go over the intake. Secure it with a rubber band. It will have to be cleaned a couple of times per day or you will be restricting the water flow to your filter too severly but it will keep the babies out of the intake.
When the babies are big enough, in a couple of weeks, you can replace it with a peice of filter sponge material. Just cut the sponge material in a small square, then hollow out the center with a knife, just enough to put your intake down in and the sponge stay on it. The sponge should be tight on the intake.
