formalin treatment discus and cory cats

I have 2 10 month old discus with Gill flukes I have them in a 54 gal. tank with cory cats and albino bristle nose cats .can I treat the tank with formalin? will it harm my cats? thanks FRED

Hi Fred, I'd remove the cats before treating.

I have used formalin at 1ml per 10 gallons in a tank with corys and albino bristlenose. They seemed to handle it fine. But, if you care alot about the catfish, I would remove them just to be sure.

thanks for the information I removed the cats it took a while to catch them their fast . I started fluke treatment on the discus thanks again FRED
