Today I noticed two snake tongue like worms on a guppy and a platy in my 100 gallon tank. They are 1/4 inch long, attached to the base of the fin, and is forked at the end. I think its anchorworm that has an egg sac. I dont know how they got into my tank. Do they come with live worms? All fish were quarantined before introduction. I removed the two adult worms. Does anyone know about their lifecycle? Im afraid some eggs have been laid. My fish have been scratching for a week with visible white spots. The temp is at 92 during the day and drops to 86 at night. Ive been treating with maracide. I dont think ich can survive at this temp so is it possible that the hatched anchor worm is attacking my fish? WHat should i do? I dont wnat to use a drug that will wipe out my plants.
Thanks for the help!
