hi people. do u guys use pigheart besides beefheart? any difference in nutritional values? thanks

I know several people over in Singapore who use pig heart rather than beef heart. Not sure on the difference between the two nutrition wise. It shoud work just the same.

I don't think there's a huge difference between feeding one over the other in terms of nutritional value. In either case it's important to make sure all faty tissue is removed from the heart before feeding, as it can lead to constipation/blockages.

It has also been reported that some swine are fed a growth hormone that has led to sterility in Discus.

Pig hearts are fine, as are hearts from elk and deer. I would suspect bear heart to be too oily, but that is only a suspicion of mine. I have no data for a definative answer. Sheep and goat hearts are not recommended because of their higher oil content. :)
